Arts & Culture Plan

Defining a Vision

This plan aims to create a collective vision for the role that arts and culture will play in the city of Bismarck by creating a community-driven strategy for arts and culture for the region.

Why an Arts & Culture Plan?

To fulfill the commitment outlined in the Together 2045 Comprehensive Plan this plan’s intent is to provide a framework for policies, procedures, programs, and systems/organizational structures to support artists and the integration of public arts within the community.

It will provide an opportunity to collaborate with multiple public, non-profit, and educational entities to identify partnership opportunities as well as outline processes for the artists and the city to work better together.

The plan will provide an inventory of existing public art and art happenings, recommend opportunities for both short-term and permanent public art locations, and find ways to bolster and sustain performing arts opportunities and programming.
